Review of Indonesian motorcycles sales 1st semester 2008

After view years passed in Indoesian motorcycles industry,it seems this 2008 will be the biggest sales performed in entire years. From the data of AISI (Association of Indonesian Motorcycles Industry), there's an increase sales till 46% from 2007 this 1st semester, for about 3 million units has been sold only in this semester 2008. If it can hold on, it seems this year will be the new record sales after the fantastic record 5 million unit sales in year 2005. The low ends model (100-110cc, cup) like ussual take 60% on all sales percentage. And sport commuter segment only had 11% of contribution.

An optimistic result to biggest 3 manufactured (Honda,yamaha,& Suzuki) in years to come. Suzuki, which is the 3rd ranks in Indonesia market shared among other manufactured has also step up their sales this semester, they reach 13,7% market shared. But its not too good for them. Many strategy and new product line up cannot significantly push their sales like use too (15-20%). it seems they have to works harder and launch another new product in the crowded segment.
